Himachal Pradesh Cricket team registered season first win as it routed Assam by an innings and 133 runs in their Ranji Trophy Match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
Trailed by 331 in the first innings, Assam needed to bat throughout the day to salvage a draw, but with the discipline bowling from pacer Rishi Dhawan, and good support from Vikramjit Malik and Ankush Bedi, Himachal managed to bundled host on 198 in 79.5 overs.
Rishi Dhawan grabbed five wickets, while Vikramjit Malik and Ankush Bedi took two wickets each. Skipper Bipul Sharma gets lone wicket.
Playing first, Himachal scored 549 with the loss of four wickets. Wicketkeeper batsman Ankush Bains hits maiden century, while senior campaigner Paras Dogra made emphatic double century.
In its reply, Assam could manage only 218 in 100.2 overs. Pallavkumar Das made 52, while Tarjinder Singh remained not out on 35. In the second inning Tarjinder made 90.
