The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has been questioned by the CBI in connection with alleged payoffs to him by a steel company.

The CBI’s Preliminary Enquiry was registered in 2013 based on a complaint by the State Trading Corporation. IT department had conducted raids against a private steel company in which documents recovered showed certain payments to Singh.

It is alleged in the complaint by the state trading corp that Singh revised his IT returns to account for the pay-offs.

BJP state President Satpal Singh Satti, quickly responding to the development, asked Chief Minister to resign from the post. Satti stated that Singh can influence the investigation.
