The Indian Metrological Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has issued advisory of heavy snowfall and rain in Himachal Pradesh on 3rd and 4th February, 2014.
A Spokesman of the State Government said that light to moderate precipitation activity would also affect the Western Himalayan region from 5th February onwards with chance of increase in activity on 6th and 7th February, 2014 due to western disturbance. Keeping in view of above, necessary directions to all the Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments have been issued to take appropriate precautionary measures by Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority. An appeal is also made to public at large to be careful during this bad weather period.
