Solan: Himachal Pradesh police have registered an FIR against Patanjali Yogpeeth after their inquiry established that the trust, in connivance with some district administration officials, acquired 28 acres of land at a site other than the approved in Solan district.

Though the FIR has been registered against Yogpeeth representatives and the revenue officials involved, no one has been named yet. Police source revealed the police probe has found that the land was leased out at a wrong place to Patanjali Yogpeeth in connivance with some officials from the Solan district administration. It’s also learned that the Police have found that the Govt had given permission for land at Chohara village but the Yogpeeth representatives later got land allotted at Kehlog village by fudging documents.

The previous BJP led government had allotted the 28 acres of prime land on a 99-year lease to Patanjali Yogpeeth in 2010 and then opposition Congress had opposed the decision, claiming the land valued at Rs35 crore-Rs 40 crore was given to Ramdev at a throwaway price. However, last year when Congress came into power in state taken possession of the land.
