Shimla: Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs today inspected seven fair price shops in Shimla City and in Mashobra Development Block to take the stock of availability of foodgrains being provided under Targetted Public Distribution System to the people.
He directed the Controllers of District Food and Civil Supplies for conducting regular surprise visits in their areas so as to make available the backlog quota of food grains to the consumers, which had been delivered to the fair price shops and initiate steps to check hoardings of foodgrains, if any.
He directed District Controllers to send the complete details regarding availability of foodgrains and other essential commodities to the Directorate regularly.
