Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, gave nod to the long pending demand of people from Chopal region of upgrade Civil Hospital Nerva and Chopal to 50 beds. In the meeting it was decided that both hospitals will be upgraded to 50 beds with required staff.

People of this far flung region of state, where even basic road facilities in many panchayats is not available had been demanding for better medical facilities from couple of decades. The demand has now been fulfilled with the cabinet’s decision. The locals are relieved as they had to travel to Shimla for medical treatment earlier, which not only burnt a hole in their pocket but was highly troublesome for the patient too.

With the nod to upgrade Nerwa Hosital the people of Nerwa, Throch, Kupvi, Kiran, Taylor, Bohr, Pabhan, Dharchandna, Majholi, Nohra, Kulag, Mundhli, Madhana, Dhanat, Tikri, Khoond Newl, Pauria will also benefit.

Chopal legislature Balbir Singh Verma thanked Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for acceding the longstanding demand of the region.

Pradesh Congress Committee member Rajneesh Kimta also thanked Chief Minister and health minister Kaul Singh Thakur for giving nod to upgrade hospitals. He said,” now people of the region will receive medical facilities locally rather than travelling to Shimla”. He also urged Congress led government to improve the condition of roads in the region.

Youth leader Amit Singh Chauhan welcomed government decision and also demanded to connect all panchayats with road facilities.
