The apple would be marketed as per the wishes of horticulturists of the State, said Rohit Thakur, Chief Parliamentary Secretary here today after a delegation of farmers and orchardists met him and pursued their demand for the same. He said that the orchardists were receiving complaints regarding sale of small size of apples at lesser prices which was mainly due to the arbitrary behaviour of the brokers. The delegation demanded same price for all size of apples.

He said that the State Government was committed for welfare of farmers and horticulturists of the State and would not tolerate unwanted behaviour of the dealers at any cost.

He said that the officers of State Marketing Board had been directed to take necessary action against the agents indulging in such practices.
