An ill fated pick-up van met with an accident at Bholag near Trimath in Bhattiyat sub-division of Chamba district, in which three persons died and 29 others injured.

Chamba police said that the ill-fated vehicle was on its way from Bharari to Bholag for a pilgrimage and carrying 32 persons, mostly women. Police said that two persons died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda (Kangra). Deceased have been identified as Varender Kumar, Rekha Devi and Rekha. The condition of the two injured was also stated to be critical and they had been referred to the Tanda medical college.

On receiving information, officials of the local administration and police with the help of the local people carried out a rescue operation. A case has been registered at the Chowari police station.
