Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh have expressed grief over killing of three jawans from the state in a gunbattle with the militants in Pulwama district in south Kashmir.

Conveying their condolences to the bereaved families, they said that their sacrifice for country would always be remembered.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that their sacrifice for the sake of the Nation would always be remembered. In his condolence message, Chief Minister said that the valour shown by martyr Ashwani Kumar Banyal, Hav Kamaljeet and Ajit Singh, who died fighting militants had not only brought glory to the Nation but also to State as well and this supreme sacrifice shall always be remembered.

He said that Himachal Pradesh was known as ‘Vir Bhoomi’ and the government well recognizes the contribution these martyrs had made for the security of the Country. “We hold our valiant soldiers in high esteem” said the Chief Minister.

He prayed to the almighty to give peace to the departed souls and strength to the family members to bear the irreparable loss.

The Chief Minister said that Himachal was known as ‘Vir Bhoomi’ and the government well recognises the contribution of these martyrs had made for the security of the country.
