Governor Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh have felicitated the people of the State on the occasion of Shivratri.

The Governor said that this was one of the most important festivals celebrated in the State as Himachal was considered as ”Abode of God ”. She hoped that the auspicious occasion bring peace and happiness into the lives of people.

Virbhadra Singh said that the people of the State had been celebrating this festival with traditional fervor and gaiety in all parts of the State since the time immemorial.

Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh was known as abode of Lord Shiva and Shivratri fairs at various places in the State has its own importance. He hoped that Shivratri fair would go a long way in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.

Bali, Transport Minister, Sujan Singh Pathania, MPP and Power Minister, Anil Sharma, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister, Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Forest Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries Minister, Sudhir Sharma, Housing and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Chaudhary, Excise and Taxation Minister, Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Neeraj Bharati, Rajesh Dharmani and Vinay Kumar, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries have also felicitated the people of the State on the occasion of Shivaratri.
