Irrigation & Public Health, Horticulture and Information Technology Minister Vidya Stokes, held a meeting with Head of Departments here today and took stock of the activities being undertaken by these departments.
Stokes directed to implement the programmes under the guidelines of National Water Policy, 2012 and election manifesto of Congress Party. She said that under 12th five year plan special priority would be given to water area. She also directed to formulate the drinking water supply plan for Shimla city and implement it in a stipulated time period.
She directed IPH and Horticulture departments to work in coordination for providing irrigation facility to the horticulture area. She said that special emphasis would be given to fulfil the promises of election manifesto of Congress Party. She said that anti-hail net would be provided to the fruit growers on subsidized rates to minimize the loss from hail stones. She directed to make more use of Information Technology to bring transparency and efficiency in the working.
