Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today dedicated augmented Lift Water Supply Scheme (ALWSS), Shri Naina Devi Ji completed at a cost of Rs. 7.65 crore. This will benefit population of about 22 panchayats of the area besides devotees who visit Shri Naina Devi Ji in large number daily. He also performed foundation stone laying ceremony of multi storeyed Car parking at Naina Devi to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.82 crore having capacity of over 75 vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that in Behra Dol, Solar Power Project having project of five MW would be constructed by the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited by spending Rs. 50 crore. He said that Motor Vehicle Inspector will sit at Kaulawala Toba once in a month. He said that ‘Yatri Niwas’ would also be constructed at Naina Devi with the assistance of Temple Trust. He said that one 108 ambulance would also be provided at Shri Naina Devi Ji to facilitate the people.
Chief Minister said that Government was committed to accelerate the pace of development in rural areas and added that a number of schemes had been implement during last over four and a half years. He said that every section had been benefited by the policies and programmes initiated by the State Government.
Prof. Dhumal said that State Government was providing subsidy of Rs. 130 crore annually to provide ration to the people at subsidized rates which includes three pulses, two edible oil and salt every month. He said that every APL family was getting benefit of over Rs. 6000 annually and BPL family over Rs. 10,000 annually on account of subsidy being provided by the State Government to supply essential commodities.
Chief Minister said that his Government was committed to ensure that common man were benefited from the policies and programmes of the State Government first. He counted various schemes which had benefited people in large number in the State during present State Government regime.
Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal came down heavily on the previous Government for having done nothing development of the State and trying to befool them by becoming their benefactor. Randhir Sharma, MLA speaking on the occasion said that development in the area had been expedited by the present Government. He said that Government had ensured water to the people of Changer area of Bilaspur district besides ensuring irrigation facility in the area by completing Changer Irrigation Project on war footing.
Munish Sharma, President, Nagar Parishad, Naina Devi welcomed the Chief Minister. Baba Ranjeet Singh, President District BJP, other prominent persons of the area and senior officers were present on the occasion.
