Campaigning for MC Shimla elections is on its final leg and all political parties are trying everything to woo voters. All big leaders are canvassing for their candidates for 27th May election.

Congress stalwart Virbhadra Singh is back again from Delhi and canvassing for Congress candidates. Union Minister in UPA Govt and record five times Chief Minister seeks votes for Madhu Sood and other candidates. While addressing the public at various places in MC Shimla, Virbhadra Singh has urged voters to stick with the development oriented people and advised them to teach BJP lesson for its four years of misrule in the State. He blamed that BJP has done nothing in last four years and tattered roads and other basic facilities are the live example of it. He also criticized BJP for lying about the Centre aids for state; he said that UPA Govt has given rightful share of Himachal to its Govt and lack of good leadership hampered its rightful use. For congress Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma also questioned BJP role in Jaypee industries and said that BJP will have to give answer about many unanswered questions. Anand Sharma also accused the Himachal Pradesh government of being incompetent and incapable of utilising grants received under centrally-funded schemes.

On the other side Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal campaigned for the Shimla Municipal Corporation polls, and asked voters to ensure that the Congress did not get a chance to return to power, whether municipal poll or assembly election. He attacked Congress for steep fuel price hike and said that UPA decision of hiking prices of Petrol shows its real character. He alleged that Congress is anti-common people.

State BJP president Satpal Satti also urged voters to give mandate to BJP. While addressing party workers Satti threatened a mass agitation in Himachal Pradesh if the hike was not withdrawn immediately.

The CPM has also emerged as one of stronger players in the MC election. Party’s senior leader and polit bureau member Sitaram Yechury also addressed party workers at Sabzi Mandi Ground and urged voters to give a maiden chance to CPM to serve them. He said that both Congress and BJP are neck deep in Corruption and promoting capitalism, which is widening the gape between rich and poor.

Assembly election is also about 4-5 months far and MC Shimla election is proving a much need rehearsal before Assembly election.
