In a bid to promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh, the state authorities organised an international dance festival where performers from Russia, Brazil, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Italy taking part. The two-day festival kicked off on Friday in which over thirty artistes presented various dance forms including ballet and tap dance.

Large number of local and international audience turned up to catch a glimpse of international dance performances in the Shimla. The Director of language, art and culture department, Prem Sharma, who is also the organizer of the event, said that the event aimed at providing a platform to international artists in India and to promote tourism in the state.
