Tension prevailed at Baddi on Monday when angered at the death of a youth due to alleged police harassment; a mob pelted stones and burnt police vehicles. Two police vehicles were set afire and six police personnel were injured in a clash with the mob near a police station in Baddi. Later situation controlled by the police.

A large number of protesters from Kalka in Haryana carrying the body of Sucha Singh gathered in front of the police station to lodge their protest over his death. They alleged that Sucha, belonging to a village near Kalka, tried to commit suicide by hanging himself from a high-power transmission line Sunday after he was fined by police for not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler. He was admitted in a critical condition to the PGI in Chandigarh, where he died later. Protesters were demanding action against the police personnel responsible for his death, but later it took ugly turn.
