A Regional Review meeting of implementation of works under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) of six states was held here today under the Chairpersonship of S. Vijay Kumar, Secretary, Rural Development, Government of India (GoI). Dr.P.K.Anand, Joint Secretary Rural Connectivity-cum-Director General, National Rural Development Agency, Y.S.Dwivedi, Director, Technical, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and other senior officers from Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir participated in the meeting. Besides, delegates of MoRD, Government of India and National Rural Roads Development Agency (NRRDA) were also present.
Progress of PMGSY works, with respect to their completion, sanction, quality of work as per norms in all the six states were reviewed through online Monitoring Management and Accounting System (OMMAS).The Secretary Rural Development, GoI, Vijay Kumar urged all the States to complete the pending works under the PMGSY so as to enable release of additional funds to the States from the Ministry of Rural Development.
K.K. Gupta, Chief Engineer, PMGSY, informed that the meeting of State Quality Monitors, National Quality Monitors, State Technical Agencies, Principal Technical Agencies, regarding effective implementation of PMGSY works would be held on 12th of June , 2012 at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla. Besides, field visits to some of the ongoing PMGSY works shall also be undertaken on 12th of June, 2012.
