Chief Electoral Officer Himachal Pradesh Narinder Chauhan said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the counting of votes in 12-Nalagarh and 16-Rainka (SC) constituencies, where by-elections were held on 30th November, 2011.
He said that counting would commence at 8.00 AM for 12-Nalagarh legislative assembly constituency, in the examination hall, Government Post Graduate Degree College, Nalagarh under the supervision of Returning Officer (SDM), Nalagarh and for 16-Rainka (SC) legislative assembly constituency, counting will be held at Zila Parishad Bhawan, SFDA Hall, Nahan under the supervision of Returning Officer (SDM), Nahan. He said that 15-15 tables have been set up for the purpose in the counting halls. He said that counting process would be video graphed.
He said that as per the directions of Election Commission of India, no one can enter any counting centre as a matter of right. Persons directly connected with the counting and specifically authorized by the Returning Officer can alone enter the counting centres.
