Public Works Minister Thakur Gulab Singh reviewed the work regarding the progress in the maintenance and up gradation of Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh-Swarghat National Highway, 21A in a meeting with the senior officers of the Public Works Department. Minister said that this road was being maintained and improved by spending Rs 83.44 core has been sanctioned for up gradation and maintenance of 66.27 kms, which includes construction of Chikni Khud Bridge being constructed at a cost of Rs 8.23 crore
Thakur Gulab Singh said that strengthening work of Kms17/400 to 27/0 on this National Highway 21A has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 10.38 crore. He said that patch work on km 27/0 to 35/0 stretch of this road had been completed He said that work of widening and strengthening of existing intermediate lane from kms 35/0 to 49/0 to double lane by spending an amount of Rs 40.82 crore has been sanctioned and acceptance letter amounting to Rs 26.42 crore has been issued to the contractor M/s Trilok Chand and Company.
Public Works Minister said that work of widening to double lane and improvement of the stretch between kms 49/0 to66/27 has been awarded. He said that this stretch would be widened by spending an amount of Rs 22.73 crore. He said that this work would be completed by September, 2013. He said that on completion this road would ensure smooth flow of vehicles in the region. Thakur Gulab Singh said work of construction of Chikni Khud Bridge has been awarded and would be completed soon. Sonam Negi, Chief Engineer, National Highways and other senior officers of the Department attended the meeting.
