Shimla: On the fourth day of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Monsoon Session, opposition BJP again staged walkout from the house. BJP members demanding discussion on the allegations leveled against him and as their demand for discussion weren’t consider, they started raising slogan against ruling party and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
As the Vidhan Sabha proceeding started, the Vidhan Sabha speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail urged all members to hold House proceeding peaceful. Immediately after that BJP member Suresh Bhardwaj stood at his seat and sought clarification over Chief Minister’s statement over IT case, which he made in the house after Speaker rejected the opposition notice for discussion on the basis of case was sub-judice in the Delhi High Court.
Responding to it, Speaker stated that the Chief Minister hadn’t made statement on the Court issue, upon which Dhumal blamed Speaker for contradicting his own statements and advised him to reconsider discussion on the issue.
Other BJP members including Thakur Mahender Singh joined their senior leaders and started pressing Speaker for the discussion. In the meantime, Congress members objected the opposition move and started raising slogan against opposition, which was not gone well with the opposition and they also started slogan against ruling party and Chief Minister.
Amidst the ruckus, Speaker started question hour, however, opposition members continue raising slogans and later staged walkout from the house.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh slammed opposition behavior and accused them for demeaning the prestige of the house by using unparliamentarily language in the house. Chief Minister stated that the opposition and leader of opposition have habit of disrupting the house proceeding as in the past they have done so.
He also takes a strong exception over the slogans and language used by the opposition members in the house and urged Vidhan Sabha Speaker to take action against them.
Chief Minister said that there were cases pending against leader of opposition and his sons, but ruling party isn’t raising them as they are sub-judice. He however said, they will be addressed at an appropriate time and platform.
