The Himachal Pradesh Government has exempted all Goods carriages coming from neighbouring States from the requirement of obtaining a permit under Section 66(1) of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 for transportation of apple and potatoes.
The exemption will be operative from 1st August 2014 to 31st October, 2014. A notification has been issued in this regard.
The exemptions will be available in respect of goods carriages coming from the neighbouring States of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Chandigarh for transportation of apple and potatoes from Himachal Pradesh to outside the State.
