The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is going to be hi-tech with the implementation of E-Vidhan project in the coming session. The session would be paper-free as all the proceeding of the session will be conducted on the specially designed website of Vidhan Sabha.
All the desk of members has been equipped with the computer and the whole proceedings of House will be available on the E-Vidhan Programme and member can logged in the programme through biometric identification.
In this specially designed software, each member of the house will be able to filter the content of the proceeding by just commanding the computer with his/her finger touch. Member can also use a specially designed pen for operating the programme.
The facility of E-Voting is also with the E-Vidhan Programme and members will also have opportunity to highlight their issues with the help of photograph and Video clippings in the house. It’ll also have Hi-Tech Video Conferencing facility.
Technician associated with the project claiming the system trusted and hacking free. He informed that after the security certification from Department of Electronic and Information Technology, Government of India, (DEITY) the programme will be made available for the use and he’s confident to get all necessary formalities before its official inauguration, which has been decided on August 4 on the 108th birth anniversary of the state’s first chief minister YS Parmar.
For the smooth and accurate Vidhan Sabha proceeding, the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha has started training programme for members of the house and other associates.
Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Behari Lal Butail said that E-Vidhan Project would reduce the Financial burden of Rs 10 to 15 crore per annum and would also save about 6,000 trees annually.
National Informatics Centre Services Inc (NICSI) is executing the project.
