Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Priyatu Mandal stated that regular surprise inspections of fair price shops were being conducted to ensure the benefit of various subsidized schemes to the people of the State.
Mandal said that the flying squad of the department led by Joint Director conducted surprise inspections of 12 fair price shops in Theog, Narkanda and Rampur Development Blocks in district Shimla. Various Irregularities were found in six fair price shops. He said that appropriate action would be taken against the defaulters and surprise inspections would continue in future also.
