Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh released a book- ‘Himachal Ke Mandir Avam Dev Asthayen’, published by H.P. Language and Culture Department.
Chief Minister said on the occasion that Himachal Pradesh was known as land of Gods where temples have special significance to the people of the State. He said that books based on religion and culture were playing important role in maintaining cultural identity of the State. The State Government had re-included 13 temples in schedule-I of H.P. Hindu Public Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1984 for their better preservation and upkeep, which were de-notified by the previous Government.
Lauding the efforts of the Department for this publication, he said that this book would provide useful information to the readers on religion and culture of the State.
Secretary, Language and Culture, Maneesh Garg said that Depatrment was endeavouring to provide in-depth information about the temples of the State being governed by the Temple Trusts.
Director, Language, Art and Culture, Dr. Devender Gupta said that this book contained detailed information about the 34 temples which had been acquired by the State Government.
