A joint delegation of Himachal Medical Officers Association (HMOA) Resident Doctors Association (RDA) Tanda and Resident Doctors Association (RDA) IGMC Shimla called on Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today and paid gratitude to Chief Minister for enhancing budget for Health Sector in current fiscal.

Chief Minister said that the State Government was committed to provide best health care facilities to the people of the State. He said that our health infrastructure was better than national average and our health indicators one of the best in the country still there were scope for further improvement. He asked the Doctors to provide best health services to outdoor and indoor patients.

The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for enhancing the monthly incentive to the Post Graduate Contractual Medical Officers to encourage them to opt for hospitals located in the interior and remote areas. They expressed their gratitude for raising monthly incentive from Rs. 15000 to 25000 and from Rs. 25000 to Rs. 40000 to encourage the P.G. Doctors to opt for such interior locations. They also thanked for raising higher education allowance for doctors acquiring Post Graduate Degree from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 7000 per month and Rs. 2000 to 3500 per month for acquiring PG Diplomas.

The delegation requested to enhance in service (GDO) reservation quota in MD/MS examination from 66 per cent to 80 per cent.

Chief Minister said that he would look into the matter sympathetically.
