Governor Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh felicitated the people of the State on the occasion of Guru Ravidass Jayanti.
Governor Urmila Singh said that Guru Ravidass preached universal brotherhood, tolerance and love for all. His teachings were more relevant today when communal forces were out to disintegrate the society on narrow considerations.
Virbhadra Singh in his message said that since childhood Guru Ravidass was very much inclined towards spirituality. He taught to trust in Almighty and devote oneself in the service of mankind. He said that Guru Ravidass showed great respect and devotion to holy men and believed that everybody was equal in all respects, irrespective of caste, colour or belief.
