Labour and Employment Minister Kishan Kapoor said that 702 establishments had been registered under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Rs. 129 crore cess had been deposited in the Board as welfare fund. He was speaking in 43rd State Labour Ministers Conference at New Delhi today.
Labour Minister said that 10282 workers had been registered as beneficiaries by the Board and various benefits were being provided to them through welfare schemes like ‘Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna’, ‘Janshree Bima Yojna’, ‘Maternity Benefit’, ‘Monthly Pension’, ‘Loans for Construction and Purchase of Tools’ etc.
Kapoor said that State Skill Development Mission and State Skill upgradation Council had been established under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary and Labour and Employment Department was organising Vocational Guidance Programmes, Interview Camps and Job Fairs regularly to ensure that educated youth get employment. He said that Department would give the facility of registration, re-registration and renewal of the same through Lok Mitra Kendras established in about every Panchayat in addition to Employment Exchanges.
The Minister said that the Government was ensuring minimum daily wages in the private sector also and labour inspectors and officers of the Department had been appointed as Conciliation officers so that cordial industrial relation could be maintained. He said that the Department was following the provisions laid in many Central and State Acts to check the exploitation of workers and contract workers
