Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the present State Government had performed more than the promises made in the Election Manifesto for the welfare of the people and development. He was addressing a public meeting at Bhatian in Nalagarh area of Solan district today after inaugurating developmental schemes worth Rs. 4.25 crore which includes Seri-Jhariyan-Plasara- Jamala-Kalyanpur road and Chikni khad bridge constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.10 crore and buildings of Government Senior Secondary Schools, Bhatian and Gujjarwalan building completed at a cost of Rs. 57.12 lakh each.
Chief Minister said that the present Government had spent Rs. 53.36 crore on various developmental activities in Nalagarh area whereas Rs. 22.50 crore were spent by previous Congress Government during its regime in five years. He said that Government had constructed 98 kilometers new roads in last four years whereas only 74 kilometers roads were constructed during previous Congress Government.
Detailing about the developmental schemes, Chief Minister said that free ambulance services were being provided to the people of the State under Atal Swasthya Sewa Yojna and similarly under Atal Uniform Yojna two pairs of uniforms were being provided to the students of government schools from 1st to 10th standard with stitching charges of Rs. 100 each to bring similarity amongst the students. He said that the grant- in -aid under Atal Awas Yojna had also been enhanced besides subsidy was being given on essential commodities under PDS thereby bnenefitting each BPL family with Rs. 54000 and APL families by Rs. 31,524. He said that the State had been ranked at first position in implementation of 20 point programmes for the last three years consecutively. He said that per capita income had also been increased to RS. 73000 which was Rs. 43000 in the year 2007-08 thereby registering increase of Rs. 30,000 during last four and a half years. He said that the social security pension had been enhanced to Rs. 450 per month from RS. 200 whereas the previous Congress Government did not even increase a single penny. He said that the present State Government had sanctioned 1,15,600 new social security pension cases during last four and a half years.
Virender Kashyap, MP said that State was achieving new heights of development under the able leadership of Prem Kumar Dhumal. He criticized the UPA Government for curtailing the industrial package provided by the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. Dr. Rajeev Bindal and Vinod Chandel, MLAs, Hardeep Thakur, Vice Chairman, Zila Parishad, Baldev Thakur, President, BJP Mandal, prominent persons and senior officers of the State Government were present on the occasion.
