It’s prerogative of the High Command to include someone in the Party: Kimta
Shimla: Acting tough of growing indiscipline within the party fold, Himachal Pradesh Congress President Kuldeep Singh Rathore has suspended Congress Party Office Bearers from their post who opposed likely inclusion of Suresh Chandel in the party fold.
Vending anger over reports of Suresh Chandel joining Congress party, some of party workers from Bilaspur and Una district had burned Chandel’s effigy and later hold a press conference against Suresh Chandel.
Rajneesh Kimta, general secretary organization, confirmed that Tripta Thakur, Naim Mohammad, Shailender Bharol, Madhu Chandel and Vikas Kashyap were suspended from party post and asked to furnish reply within 15 days to explain their action failing which party will initiate strict disciplinary action as per party constitution.
Kimta said the party state president has taken serious note on this indiscipline and suspended the erring office bearers from their posts. Rajneesh Kimta said
“it is prerogative of the High Command whether to include someone in the Party or to allot Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha Ticket to any aspirant of their choice”
Grand old party is searching for potential candidature from Hamirpur constituency, a strong BJP bastion, from where Congress has failed to register win from last two and half decades. Most of Congress leaders from Hamirpur constituency are reluctant to contest election against BJP’s Anurag Thakur. As per information Congress was exploring possibilities of fielding Leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Ram Lal Thakur, but most of them are not keen and Congress high command exploring other possibility of inducting and fielding former Hamirpur MP and once among strongest BJP state leader Suresh Chandel.
Suresh Chandel had represented Hamirpur Parliamentary segment in 12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabha, but had to vacate the seat after notorious cash for question scam. He was also a BJP president and hold many key post of the saffron outfit. After being sidelined and ignored for long time, Chandel seems crossing over to the Congress on the condition of party ticket. Many party senior leaders accepted that Suresh Chandel can put Congress in fight in Hamirpur Lok Sabha Constituency and can give tough contest to Anurag Thakur.
