Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today accorded its necessary approval to run Bachelor of Physiotherapy course in private institutions.
Few private Universities were running pillar to post to get Government approval for starting Physiotherapy courses in their campuses. However, after falling to get Government’s nod – institutions were in limbo even after setting up world class Physiotherapy Units in the campuses.
The government decision will give students opportunity to study and train in highly specialised physical rehabilitation programs.
The Cabinet, presided by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, approved a policy for sponsoring in-service General Duty Officers in health department in difficult, hard and tribal areas of the State. These officers would be provided various monetary and non-monetary initiatives to serve in such areas and would be sponsored for doing PG Degree/Diploma, DM/MCh.
The cabinet also accorded approval to introduce scholarship of Rs. 5000 annually for girls of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families under Beti Hai Anmol Yojna who are studying in graduate level and equivalent courses including those of Bachelor Engineering, B.Tech, MBBS, B.ed and LLB. This scholarship was already being given upto plus two level which was maximum upto Rs 2250 annually.
Giving relief to the Primary Assistant Teachers (PAT), the Cabinet decided to provide annual increment to PAT on lines of regular JBT. It decided to frame transfer policy for PAT. The PAT teachers will be eligible for one time transfer against a vacancy or on mutual cases after completion of three years of stay on particular station. It was further decided that only female PAT teachers would be eligible for inter-district transfer in case of marriage and not otherwise.
The Cabinet accorded nod to provide subsidized ration to around 2000 inmates in Tibetan Children Villages located at Dharamshala under special subsidized scheme.
The Cabinet also agreed to adjust the services of 116 members of Watershed Development Teams (WDT) against various vacant posts in Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj and Zila Parishad cadre. The Cabinet gave nod to a policy with regard to the Jal-Rakshaks in Irrigation and Public health department. The qualified Jal Rakshaks with ITI diplomas will be given quota in R& P Rules for pump operators and fitters.
