Shimla: To easy the traffic of the Theog city, the state government has cleared to construct a by-pass. Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes revealed the government has received Rs. 39 crore from the Union Government for the construction of Theog by-pass.
Stokes, in a meeting with senior officers of various departments at Secretariat today, stated that the tender process would be started soon and work on the road would be done on priority basis.
Theog city, situated on the National Highway-5 – that connects border Kinnaur district of the state with the rest of the world, is one of the busiest road of the upper Shimla region. Traffic jams are frequent in the Theog city and by-pass road would help to easy the traffic woes of the daily commuters.
Stokes, in the meeting also claimed of achieving many milestones of development during last four years in Theog assembly segment. She said the construction of Civil Hospital Theog was in progress and the case of additional funds of Rs. 3 crore has been sent to Finance department for the sanction.
Stokes said the work on bus stand Theog was in progress and additionally Rs. 3 crore would be provided soon. She also directed to constitute a committee under SDM Theog to ensure early construction of this bus stand.
The Minister further directed the officers of concerned departments for the time bound implementation and construction of all developmental works and Chief Minister announcements including CA stores and up gradation of various Schools in the segment.
