Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has achieved 100 percent Aadhaar Saturation out of current population of 2015. An officer of IT Department revealed that Aadhaar numbers have been generated for 72, 52,880 residents in the State, and with it state become 6th State/ UT in the Country to achieve 100% Aadhaar saturation.
Till now Delhi, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh have achieved 100 percent Aadhaar Saturation.
To maintain 100% Aadhaar saturation in future, the IT Department have deployed 780 Tablets through Anganwari workers to cover 0-5 age group in the State and further 250 Tablets will be deployed through Health Institutions to cover new born babies in the State, he added.
Officer said that as biometric updation is mandatory at attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years, department have 240 Permanent Enrolment Centres (PECs) operational for updation and enrolment activity down to the block level. He said that 22 Aadhaar Mobile Vans are also operational to cover any left out Citizen or elderly person in the remote areas of the State.
The department has also set up Aadhaar helpdesk 0177-2626709 to facilitate citizens to address any Aadhaar related query. Queries related to Aadhaar can also be addressed to the Aadhaar Nodal Officer, Department of IT, IT Bhawan, Shoghi Bypass Road, Meheli Shimla, email:aadhaar@hp.gov.in.
