Govt not to cut existing posts of Revenue staff

Shimla: A State Government spokesman clarified that there would be no cut in the existing posts of various categories of Revenue staff in the Sub-Divisions, Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils.

In a official statement, state government spokesman said that an apprehension was being created in the Revenue field staffs that due to the staffing norms, which were notified, vide this department Notification No. Rev.A(B) 1-4/2011-1 dated 05-07-2014 there will be cut in the existing posts of various categories in the Sub-Divisions, Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils.

However, it is clarified that staffing norms would be applicable for the newly created Sub-divisions, Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils and there will be no cut in the staff of the existing administrative units, said he.

Further, as per the norms, there would be automatic creation of posts instead of approaching the Finance Department and the Cabinet for creation of each post thereby lengthening the procedure. This would impart efficiency in revenue administration and immediate operationalization of newly created revenue units.
