As expected Anita Rana, wife of Rajinder Rana, Congress candidate from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, has applied for the party ticket for the Sujanpur Assembly bypoll to be held with the Lok Sabha elections on May 7.
The District Congress Committee, Hamirpur had received thirteen application of claimant for the ticket. Former Hamirpur legislature Anita Verma, Kuldip Pathania and Ranjit Singh Verma, Col Bidhi Chand and Hamirpur District Congress Committee president Naresh Thakur are other claimant for the ticket.
The three-member ministerial committee headed by Senior Party Leader and Cabinet Minister Vidya Stokes will be meeting here today to take a final view on the candidate to be fielded by the party. The final decision will, however, rest with Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Sukhu once they meet by the end of this week.
