Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar congratulated the BJP for its impressive win in four states. In his press statement, he said that the results of the Assembly elections had clearly indicated that people had rejected the Congress and its policies and programmes, which were launched to woo the voters.

Shanta Kumar said the results were a verdict against rampant corruption and anti-people policies of the UPA government at the Centre. He added that in the Indian politics, people elect only those who perform.

Shanta Kumar believed that the results had pointed towards the fact that the NDA was going to sweep the 2014 parliamentary polls under the leadership of Narender Modi.

Shimla Lok Sabha MP Virender Kashyap and Rajya Sabha MP Vimla Kashyap also hailed the assemblies poll verdict. In their press statement, they said that now it was a matter of time before Narendra Modi is being elected as the Prime Minister of the country.

Kashyap claimed that the BJP would win all four Lok Sabha seats in the state. They stated that due to the faulty policies and programmes of the UPA government, prices of essential items were increased and thus poor and middle class section of the society has to pay for it. They stated that the electorates have totally rejected policies and programmes of the Congress and in forthcoming Lok Sabha election Narender Modi led NDA will form the government in the centre.
