Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, who is a main accused in Jyoti murder case, a dalit woman who was found killed on November 22, 2012 near Sector-21, Panchkula, told the Punjab and Haryana high court that he was implicated in the case at the behest of state chief minister Virbhadra Singh.

In a bail petition filed before the High Court, Chaudhary alleged that Singh used his influence in Congress-ruled Haryana to implicate him. The petition is expected to come up for hearing next week. Chaudhary has made Virbhadra a respondent in the petition.

He alleged that Virbhadra Singh saw him as a threat during the elections as he belonged to a rival group in state Congress and devised a novel method, which would help him be the chief minister and at the same time tarnish Chaudhary image.

Ram Kumar Chaudhary is a main accused in Jyoti murder case and had surrendered on January 8, 2013 before Panchkula court after court issued arrest warrant against him. Initially he gave miss to police and even police issued reward of Rs 2 lakh against him.

On July 29, a Panchkula court framed charges against Chaudhary and four others accomplice. All the five main accused are behind bars in Ambala Jail.
