Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has decided to give eight percent dearness allowance to its employees. The employees and pensioners of the Corporation will get installment from January, 2013. The eight percent dearness allowance will be given in cash from January to September, 2013 whereas from October, 2013 onwards it will be given with salary.

Transport Minister G.S. Bali while disclosing about this decision today said that it would put annual burden of Rs. 10 crore on HRTC.

Appreciating the employees of the Corporation, Transport Minister said that it was due to hard work and dedication that HRTC earned profit during last ten months. He blamed the previous BJP Government for mismanagement which led to financial losses of Rs. 382 crore to the Corporation adding that all efforts would be made to make it a profit earning body. He appealed the employees to support the efforts of the State Government for the betterment of Corporation.

Bali also extended Diwali greetings to the employees of the Corporation and added that Government was always considerate towards their demands.
