Sir Sai University Palampur claimed to get an approval from the AICTE to run undergraduate engineering courses for the current academic session. Sir Sai University Vice-Chancellor Dr Bal Ram Dogra said a team of experts visited the university last month and based on their feedback AICTE gave their approval.

Dr Dogra said the university had launched research-based courses in many subjects. It had been regularly publishing many research papers. It had also started an advance programme in yoga and naturopathy.

Sir Sai University Vice-Chancellor also raises question over Regulatory Commission and said that government-run universities should also be brought under its ambit. He alleged that at present over 50 per cent teaching staff posts were vacant in many government universities.
