A moderate intensity earthquake shook Himachal Pradesh and some other parts of North India. The quake was measured 5.8 on the Richter scale and was felt on 12:27 pm. Its epicenter was Baderwah in Jammu and Kashmir.

The earthquake lasted for about 30 seconds and was felt across the state. There were no reports of any casualty or injury, however some reports suggests that there were minor damages to some buildings in Jammu and Kashmir. The tremors took place 15 km below the surface.
