Himachal Chief Minister released the book titled ‘Environmental Planning and Management in the Himalayan City’ authored by Dr. Devendra Pirta, here today.
Book deals with historical evolution, urban environmental problems, planning and management. The cities like Shimla located in Himalayan region needs to be planned professionally. The book also investigates the quality of life and people’s perception on urban environmental problems in the city.
The work may prove fruitful to all people especially researchers, policy makers and students working in the field of environment, urban planning and management in the Himalayan region.
Dr. Pirta’s earlier book ‘Himachal Pradesh- The Himalayan State’ was well appreciated and the next book: ‘Climate change: Environmental security and Geostrategy’ is in the press.
