Bhartiya Janta Party lamblasted Congress party and its leader Virbhadra Singh. In a statement issued by Praveen Sharma Vice President and convener of campaign committee said that Virbhadra Singh is so desperate for power that all sense of reasoning seems to have deserted him. The latest exposure of the entries in a diary of a beneficiary industrialist indicating VBS and APS, seems to have rattled the Congress President to such an extent that he fails to remember that the Income Tax department, Vigilance Department and all other agencies involved are reporting to one congress minister or another in Delhi. He further stated that V.B Singh’s desperation has resulted in getting the ticket awarded to V.S Mankotia. What would this action be termed as, Praveen Sharma queried.
He quipped that is it an award to V.S Mankotia for its rare crusade against corrupt and corruption or an endeavour in order to make smooth succession to the throne for his son. When the public of Himachal Pradesh and Congress party rejected his wife’s candidature, he made amends with the likes of V.S.Mankotia who have accused him of immoral acts in the past, to carve a way for his son.
Praveen Sharma further stated that Sh. VB Singh has quoted the court ruling in the case of LK Advani that entries in the diaries like VBS does not indict anyone. Sh. Praveen Sharma exhorted Sh VB Singh to emulate the example of L.K. Advani who had resigned from all his posts till he was proved innocent. Sh. Praveen Sharma further stated that Sh. V.B Singh has been alienated both in the Congress party and public that no one has come in his defense so far. He is left to fend for himself alone. Sh. Praveen Sharma further said Sh. VB Singh should heed the advice of Shanta Kumar and Quit Politics and return only if proved innocent. He further re-iterated that in coming elections public of Himachal Pradesh would create history by bringing back BJP government which always served the state with humility and humbleness under the leadership of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal.
