A Spokesmen of the State Information Commission informed that the Central Information Commission (CIC) is organising VII Convention on 12th and 13th October, 2012 at New Delhi to commemorate the implementation of RTI Act, 2005 and to deliberate upon a wide range of issues relating to the Act and its implementation with a view to learn from experiences as well as to chart the future road map for greater transparency and accountability.
The Convention would be attended, by the Chief Information Commissioners and Information Commissioners of the State Information Commissions, the Civil Society Organisations/stakeholders/NGOs, RTI Activists, Central Public Information Officers and Appellate Authorities of the select Ministries/Departments of the Government of India.
It has been suggested by the Central Information Commission that each State Information Commission may recommend 20 civil society organisations/stakeholders/RTI Activists for participation. Interested Civil Society organisations / stakeholders/ RTI Activists may send their names with complete address by 31st August, 2012 so that State Information Commission could forward their names to the Central Information Commission on the first come first serve basis restricted up to twenty names as suggested by the Commission.
