State Government would motivate Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVNL) authorities to discharge their corporate responsibilities and provide adequate funds for local development besides opening some vocational educational institute in the area for the benefit of project affected families. This was stated by Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, while addressing public meeting at Jeori, in Rampur Sub-Division of district Shimla, where he was accorded a rousing reception by the people of the area which included people from the adjoining villages of district Kinnaur, late last evening.

Chief Minister said that the BJP Government had been successful in bridging the gap between rich and the poor and removing regional bias barriers by carrying uniform and balanced development of entire State. He said that the State now stood emotionally integrated and there was no discrimination of upper and lower, old and new Himachal Pradesh, apple growing and non-growing areas. He said that it was common man’s government at the helm of affairs in the State where interests of Kisaan-Baagwan-Mazdoor-Karamchari-Mahila Varg-Dalit Varg and Yuva Varg were being protected. He said that all above seven sections of the society had been the focal point of all policies and programmes of the State Government. He said that the BJP Government not only implemented its election manifesto in letter and spirit but performed beyond its scope. He said that there were a number of ambitious schemes which did not find mention in the Manifesto and prominent among them were Pandit Den Dayal Kisaan Baagwan Samridhi Yojna, Doodh Ganga Yojna, Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna, Atal School Uniform Yojna, Atal Awas Yojna, Atal Swasthya Sewa Yojna, Bhed Palak Samridhi Yojna, Mata Shabri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojna, Organic Fertilizer Yojna, subsidized essential commodities and domestic power etc. which had revolutionised the economy of the State.

Prof. Dhumal said that every section of the society had been benefitted with the policies and programmes of the State Government. He criticised UPA Government for loosing its control on prices which had put common man into grave difficulties. He said that UPA was the government of scams as the biggest scams in the history of independent India had taken place under its regime and added that Rs. 1.76 lakh crore 2G Scam, Adarsh Scam were just an iota of the long list of scams which had taken place under the patronage of UPA. He said that the BJP Government had carried development by rising above political considerations and the glaring example was that of setting up of Rs. 8 crore Milk Powder Processing Plant at Dutt Nagar near Rampur. He said that the BJP had always been thinking big to protect interests of poorest of the poor.

Chief Minister appealed to the people to take benefit of different schemes of the State Government and extend their full support so that the pace of development was not slowed down and given renewed momentum in coming years as well.

Chief Minister was also accorded a warm reception on his arrival at Sarahan despite heavy rains late last evening where he gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the people assembled in large number from adjoining villages. Raj Kumar, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Jeori, welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for his visit to their panchayat. He also apprised the Chief Minister of various local demands including taking up the issue of opening one vocational education centre in Jeori.
