A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary in the hearing a writ petition filed against the university order to close all boys’ hostels, has directed the Himachal Pradesh University registrar to accommodate all 142 students who have applied for admission in the Shahid Bhagat Singh Boys Hostel. The Court has also directed the Inspector General of Police to depute required numbers of police personnel for the time being to manage the hostel.

The court also directed that only those students whose names are shown in FIRs shall not be permitted to enter the hostels for time being.
