Picturesque Dharamshala stadium is hosting two IPL matches of Kings XI Punjab with Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils, but inadequate accommodations and hotel facilities are worrying organisers. In Dharamshala there are 56 registered hotels and guest houses with a total bed capacity of 1,100 and nearby Mcleodganj, eight km from Dharamsala has around 91 registered hotels with a capacity to accommodate 1,000 people. 20,000 cricket fans are expecting to come and accommodation can cause big problem for organizers.
However, HPCA president Anurag Thakur has different views and seems not perturbed with it and assured visitors to come and enjoy the cricket in the lap of nature. He said that apart from Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, nearby places like Chamunda, Palampur Naddi and many others are prepared to host guests. He said that apart from the hotels and guest houses, locals will host cricket fans as tourist department has given clearances to begin home stay scheme for local houses.
Anurag Thakur said that Himachali people are hospitable and visitors will not face any problem related to the accommodation. He said that hotels and guest houses in the nearby town are also prepared to welcome the guest and have enough accommodation and laudable arrangement to make their visit memorable.
