Murky deals and spot fixing in the biggest cricket mela (the India Permier League) haven’t left Himachal Pradesh untainted as well. While there are no major representations of sorts from Himachal in the ongoing IPL, one name that has been on the verge (though not actually a part of any franchise) was Abhinav Bali (represents Himachal Pradesh in Ranji Trophy), who now finds himself tainted. The BCCI, following an India TV expose (television footage), has suspended five players, including Abhinav, from all forms of cricket, indefinitely. A preliminary inquiry is ordered on the suspicious players that besides Bali include Shalabh Srivastava, TP Sudhindra, Amit Yadav, Mohnish Mishra.
