Padam Singh Chauhan, Managing Director, State Civil Supplies Corporation said that saving of Rs. 62,820 was registered for the state exchequer on account of supply of cement for Solan and Sirmaur districts from ACC Cement Ltd. Nalagarh. He said that till date the Asian Cement had supplied 333MT cement to Solan district and Sangrah, Shillai, Paonta Sahib and Nahan in Sirmaur district for carrying out works under MNREGA.
He said that it was proving beneficial to the Government in terms of lesser freight to the destinations keeping in view the larger distances from ACC Baramana to Solan and Sirmaur districts.
He said that State Civil Supplies Corporation had approved M/s Ambuja Cement Ltd, Darlaghat, Nalagarh, M/s ACC Ltd, Barmana, Nalagarh, M/s J.P. Begheri, Nalagarh for supplying cement for carrying out developmental works in the State. Asian Cement Nalagarh is also unit of ACC Cement and there is nothing wrong about carrying cement from that unit for Solan and Sirmaur area.
He said that the news item appeared in a section of press that the Civil Supplies Corporation had taken a supply of 1500 metric tonne from Asian Cement Nalagarh was wrong as the Corporation had taken supply of 333 MT from ACC Nalagarh.
