Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor said that State Government was making efforts to reduce the rates of cement and added that government has issued directions to the cement factories to reduce the rates soon. He said that a high level meeting would be held on 14th November, 2011 with the representatives of cement factories in order to take a decision about it. Minister said it while addressing a meeting of senior officers and representatives of various cement factories.
The Minister said that the State Government was providing various incentives to cement factories and added that despite these, the price of cement was rising in the State in comparison to neighbouring States. He said that these cement factories should make cement available on reasonable rates to people of the State.
Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Harinder Hira, R.D. Dhiman, Chairman, H.P. State Electricity Board Ltd. and Managing Director, Mohan Chauhan, Commissioner, Labour and Employment, J.S. Rana, Director, Industries, Dinesh Malhotra, Additional Director, Industries and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
