During his Hamirpur visit, Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal lays foundation stone of Students Activities Centre in National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur that will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 11.50 crore. Chief Minister expressed hope that the centre will give boost to the co-curricular activities in the institute which will go a long way in the overall development. Dr. R.N. Sharma, Director of the Institute detailed about the activities. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Jai Ram Thakur, MLA Urmil Thakur and other senior officers were present.

Later Prof. Dhumal listened to the grievances of the people at Hamirpur. A large number of people meet Chief Minister and submit their problems and urged for their quick solutions. Business class also met Chief Minister and urges him to look into the proposed 5% VAT on cloth.
