The University Grants Commission (UGC) authorises the Bahra University for awarding degrees. In a letter the UGC empowers the Bahra University to award degrees as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC act 1956 through its main campus in regular mode.

The Chairman of the Rayat-Bahra group of institute Gurvinder Singh said that the institute is also taking approval from all the statutory bodies besides the UGC. He said that the institute is entering in memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the leading corporate houses for in house training of students and faculty of the university.

Introducing a new concept in education the University has already established a ‘Mentor institution’ along with the university. The building of the institute is ready. The institute would provide interface to the faculty and students of Bahra University with the best professionals from the industry and government institutions.

He said that we have also written to the government of Himachal Pradesh to appoint two members of Vidhan Sabha and two eminent persons on the governing body of the university and a representative of Himachal Pradesh government on the Finance Committee of the university.
