The State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority (SMSWC&MA) which met here under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, granted clearance to one new and five other expansion industrial units entailing an investment of Rs. 88.91 crore and generating employment to 338 unemployed youth.
Chief Minister said that the State had emerged choicest destination for industrial investment as large number of proposals were pouring in from different quarters expressing keenness to set up their units in the industrial investment friendly, clean and pollution free environment of the State. He said that the State Government had been welcoming proposals which were based on local raw material, environment friendly, employment generating and contributing towards the growth of State Domestic Product. He said that the State had adopted open door policy with regard to attracting industrial investments and was selective in granting clearance to the industrial proposals keeping in view the protection of pristine environment of the State. He said that Himachal Pradesh happened to be the choicest destination for the industrial investors keeping in view the incentives and cordial relation of the State Government with the entrepreneurs. He directed authorities to ensure that all industrial proposals were scrutinized closely before presenting to the Authority and need based allocation of land, water and electricity ensured to them. He also advised them to solve all genuine grievances of the industrialists by paying frequent visits to the industrial areas and interaction with the entrepreneurs.

Kishan Kapoor, Industries Minister, Harinder Hira and S.Roy, Additional Chief Secretaries, Dr. Deepak Sanan, Principal Secretary Revenue, Bharti Sihag, Principal Secretary, Industries, Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Principal Secretary, Finance, Sanjay Sood, Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board, R.K.Sharma, Engineer-in-Chief, IPH, Dr. Rajender Chauhan, Industrial Advisor and other senior officers attended the meeting.
